My Background

After a successful and rewarding career in teaching and educational leadership, I experienced a health scare and turned my focus to the power of healthy food and lifestyle. I became a Nationally Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach which ignited my passion to help children, parents, and teachers. During my 30-year career as an elementary teacher, literacy coach, curriculum coordinator, and assistant principal, I felt there was a missing piece of the puzzle when it came to learning and behavior. Now I believe that missing piece was more emphasis on how food impacts a child’s brain, body and behavior. My purpose is to provide that piece of the puzzle to empower teachers, parents, and children to live a healthier and happier life.

According to Dr. Madiha Saeed, MD, “In 1994, one in eight children had a chronic condition; now, 54 percent of all American children have been diagnosed with a chronic health condition, with numbers estimated to increase to 80% by 2025….Unfortunately, our children’s brains are also getting sicker. Our children’s mental health has continued to decline with increasing rates of ADHD, neurodevelopmental disorders, depression, suicide, and behavior problems, much of which is related to our children’s diet.’’

Eating the Rainbow is an easy and fun way to get kids healthier, happier, and more successful. Whether you are looking for improvement in academics, behavior, mood or strengthening your immune system, learning to eat a variety of the right colorful foods can help!

What Parents Are Saying:
